Wow! It looks cool. Truly something that'll be recognized as an eyecatcher.
If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take? _________________ Whoever said "Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder" never played D&D |

Nice scalemail. Truly looks.... expencive and posh... compared to average chainmail.
Can you get closeups from both sides and some worknotes to see?

The only seams are at the shoulders, it connects into a contiguous tube for the torso
my original version used two pieces of leather and heavy rivets to connect the front and back at the shoulders
this time, i just used the steel rings I made it with.
and it puts on and takes off just like a shirt of mail, now i just need to lose a little more weight, and ill be a sexy scaley man ( haha) |

I'm going to buy this on ebay... and use it with the scale shirt ( which goes half way down the thighs, split at the hips.

I actually got stabbed by a co-worker while wearing it ( twice!)
the first time, it just deflected off of a scale, and the second, he was thinking a little smarter, and came up under the scales, it was stopped cold by the steel links
He suprised me with it too! although I had complete confidence in my armor, it is a bit unnerving to have someone genuiniely attack you with a knife "just to test it out" |

Looks even better close up.
Those scales look very industrial quality - how did you get so many looking alike? How many does one need?
Athough there is some historical reasons why such a protective outfit was worn, stabbing someone just to test it.... Are you sure about the health of your workplace atmosphere. Does he/she also poison your coffee just a little bit each day?

The scales are indeed industrial quality,
I bought them from www.theringlord.com
You need approx 100 per sq. foot
they have them in brass, mild steel, and nickle plated mild steel.. im going for the nickel ones in my next project
all said and done, including a special set of pliers for split rings, the project ran a little uner 300$
and as for a safe work environment... well the guy was young, and not entirely right in the head
but im glad you guys like my armor, I'm quite proud of it. |

are you mad?
larping in winter is GREAT
hip high snow, warm fires... good hot food when youve come back from a battle
Ive done overnight events in INSANELY cold winters
in MIchigan with the wind coming right off of lake michigan... wind factor was -50 degrees
although latex weapons arent advisable in winter |
