Me? I'm listening to Music From The Succubus Club while I'm working on my Minds Eye Theater campaign. It was a b!tch-and-a-half to find, but its so worth it to listen to it whilst doing this stuff.

Currently it's Tubular Bells II by Mike Oldfield - and I am trying to give my planned Fading Suns-campaign (NonLarp though the players are all into fantasy larp) some thought.
Usually I listen to a blend of movie soundtracks, classic music and irish/scottish folk, rarely 'medieval' (like f.e. Corvus Corax, 'Estampie' or 'Helium Vola') music. _________________ "Like the moon goddess on her path eternal..."

Right now... Kaseva, which most of you won't know as you are not finns... I like to write characters with proper theme music (for the character, I'm not so genre oriented)... So Iron Maiden / Man-O-War to warrior types, Leonard Cohen for characters involved in love affairs, Carmina Burana and other darker classic to the baddies etc. etc. Sometimes I go for the genre specific music, so dark ambient for many of my games, any celtic/medieval-style to fantasy and something like Rob Zombie for cyberpunk...
My 7th Sea (tabletop) gamemaster has habit of playing music while playing. Indiana Jones-theme when swinging with the chandelier, He-Man theme etc. while fighting... I once had a duel with unseelie sidhe musician with my own performer. The one who won the dice picked up any song from the playlist, other had to take random one. Better song also affected the outcome... We played the stuff with lutes only, but everything players heard, characters heard also... So Enter Sandman, He-Man and some Man-O-War songs are now known in Theah... as well as "Wizards staff has a knob on the end"... _________________ Very few rules, very good games and ... Awesome food. |

Jupe, you can blame that fully on me. I was tired and had virtually no ideas, even though I had tried to come up with a few...
Right now? Lemme see... Irish Descendants - Won't Be Coming Back just turned up from my playlist at random.
I also underline Jupe's point of writing characters with musical theme playing on the background, it really gives inspiration. Then again, a good eighth of my playlist's Weird Al, and I usually have random on, so that might explain some of my zanier ideas... |
