|
|
| Hi, I need some help. I am starting up with a post apocalyptic larp, in which case I'll be allowing airsoft. Here is the problem: Not all my friend have airsoft, And I want to make it possible for them to play without guns, but don't know how to balance this. I’d rather not have to implant an automatic parry system (like where the player just says “parry” and the hit doesn’t count). I am playing with a one hit kills system. Thanks Tons! |

There will be no balance. If the opponent has a gun run away and hope to not get shot. _________________ I know the pieces fit! I watched them fall away! |

For starters, you could create gun-free zones. Maybe post-apoc radiation prevents the guns from working in some areas. Who knows?
Those areas would allow some melee combat to take place. And also give everyone a change to take their goggles off and take a breather (assuming of course you had stringent airsoft-compliant rules in place about no firing into these zones, barrel plugs as needed, etc.)
Depending on your site, there could be places where someone with a sword could jump out and get a hit in before being shot.

Given that you're using a one-hit-kills system, just limit the amount of ammo available to players with guns. Use one-hit-kills for the melee weapons too.
Limit players with guns to only having knives. Let players without guns have long melee weapons.
Perhaps let the players without guns have bullet-proof shields? That's quite powerful though, and perhaps not very believable depending on the technology level. |
