Dont be to hard on yourself annonymous amtgardian! Every group has their problems. SCA has a bunch of snobby historians who dont know their butt from a bascinet(no offense to the cool SCAdians like house ravenstead =) ), amtgard has a bunch of stick jocks with slapshod costuming (again generalization), the group im starting, has no people..LOL. Well we have about 20 but yeah, need more hehe.

Hello everyone,

I find this forum while doing some web searches and I saw that some of you seem to like Bicolline. As a participant of that LARP (so please excuse my english), I assure you that the description made by Brendan is a really good one!

I will refer those of you interest by photos to this site: http://www.csrs.qc.ca/c24juin/proj/pi/1553916/
It as some photos on it. I used to manage a site with more than 6500 photos of Bicolline events until the host, larp.com, crashed. A friend of mine made a backup of those files on the web, but I've lost the address. If I find it (and if the photos are still there), I'll post it here.

Hello again,

I have 5 addresses for those of you who would like to look at some photos of Bicolline events. I think there is enough for a couple of hours! I recommend the first file!

www.csrs.qc.ca/c24juin/proj/pi/1553916/photosbico.zip : this is the complete backup of my site. It’s a large file: 438 Mo. The folders are organized like this: years/activities/player (ex.: “an1000/a000/p001”). It’s not really fun to navigate, but at least the photos are there! There are photos of 3 “Great Battles”. Folders are “an1000/a000”, “an1001/a001” and “an1002/a002”.

www.csrs.qc.ca/c24juin/proj/pi/1553916/loyalistes.zip : this is a “party” held at the Bicolline’s Inn by the dark elves.

www.csrs.qc.ca/c24juin/proj/pi/1553916/nuitsangliers.zip : this is a party held here in Montreal, by a guild of Bicolline.

www.csrs.qc.ca/c24juin/proj/pi/1553916/magesparty.zip : this is a “party” held at the Bicolline’s Inn by my group, the Mages of Díedne. The photos quality is not really good and we don’t see many mages member. But there’s a ferret! Hehehe!

www.csrs.qc.ca/c24juin/proj/pi/1553916/EdoraLys.zip : this is a party held here in Montreal, by a imperialist guilde of Bicolline. Photos taken by the same player as the previous activity.

Hey Halbert.. tiens tiens on se retrouve...;p

If you have any question about Bicolline... feel free to ask.

I've been going to Bicolline for the last 11 years... The original owner of the land is one of my best friend.

I've been a volunteer at the Great Battle for numerous years... 4 years checking weapons at the gate. So if you need some advice on how to make your weapons and make sure the pass inspection, I'll be glad to help. Or have any questions on the rules... I'm your man... heu elf....

Excellent work on the site and great gallery. The costuming is incredible. I also dig the fact you guys are using seige weapons. Too cool!

Again, nice work.

I'm thinking that the "Trollball" game they run there at Bicolline might be a great addition to the events we have planned for the "Battle of Peltham Downs" LARP event at Middlefaire in Hillsboro, TX. (See my post in the Organizing LARPs board for more information.) Their "Trollball" game looked like something that might go over well during the event weekend. [In fact, I'm toying with changing the storyline concept to being a Trollball tournament that eventually goes very wrong.]

I'm about to shoot them an email, but it's in English as I only speak English (although I am trying to learn French)....I'm told that they do speak English as well (but prefer French) so I may not have much of the language barrier problem in the email (I'm going to also use one of those web based translator sites to try to get the message translated into French.

Does anyone know if they have an English rulebook for their Trollball game and if anyone knows if that game is easy (from a legal perspective) to use in other events like the one we're running at Middlefaire?

Here's a Google translation of their rules page:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.trollball.org%2Ftb_reglements.html

You might have to translate the names of the field zones manually.

Just send you email to them in English, they'll understand. Don't bother with an automatic translation, they're only good for reading things not sending messages.

All I can say after rereading the original post, the experience that they have is exactly what I have wanted to create here in Louisiana but must realize that life and the universe itself are against me doing it.

Hello!

Myself and a few friends have been looking over the Bicolline event and we really want to participate. We're trying to create a high quality LARP in Wisconsin and making it over to Europe to see Drachenfest and Conquest of Mythodea may not be in the cards for us. Bicolline is definitely much closer, but unfortunately I have not been able to find anything on any US players that go or bi-lingual groups that let english speaking players tag along with them.

If anyone has any information on bi-lingual groups, contact info, or is interested in trying this event, please email me at lupine_productions@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Eldrad it is possible. You just have to make the commitment to try. Bicolline seems pretty awesome. I would definately love to give it a try.

Wilson could you do us a favor and please remove the links in your signature. thank you. Twisted Evil
