| Hey, I'm new to the LARPing scene but I'm really interested and this seems like something I'd be really interested in doing. Just a few questions first..does anyone know of any larp groups around the Wsetchester County area of New York? and What are the requirments to LARP(age, distance to meetings, ect.)? PS, im looking for something similar to the sytles of NERO and Alliance. Please and thankyou (^-^) |

I'm on the other coast out here in Seattle, so I can't be of too much help in tracking down a game for you.
I wouldn't be surprised though if Nero/Alliance had a chapter somewhere near you.
As for Age/Distance requirements and all that. It is something decided by the game that is running itself. There is no central rule or the like. Where a game decides to be held in regards to how far away from it you are will determine distance (and your desire to travel there) and usually the theme and type will decide what Age you need to be. Around here the more RP based and weekend long games have an age requirement of 16 at the minimum, and most have it set to 18. The day games, or single evening games though, tend to be more flexible. I think Amtgard, a more combat heavy day game, has an age requirement of 12? Might be 14. |

According to the NERO website there's 2 chapters. one is in Brooklyn the other is in Hoboken.
Alliance only has 1 chapter in Walker Valley.
I know Dagorhir has a chapter or so there. But they're mainly combat. Not likely going to get any if much role play there.
Also check the local gaming stores and such. And like what Amber said check out the New England Larpers community. Very helpful. _________________ Just when you thought the worse was over. Here I am. :0) |

There are plenty of larps listed on this websites list for larps in New york. whether or not most of them are actually still active is beyond me. Since there are plenty listed in the list that have been defunct for years but still are listed. I do hope you find a larp group that works for you. Back in the day there was a group called sword tag. Not a very professionally ran group. But a good one though. Also Age of Valor as well. _________________ Just when you thought the worse was over.
