RUNÉ is a game system is inspired by many high fantasy game systems, but predominantly by the SCA and Medieval Chaos Productions. Without the inspiration provided, this game system would not exist. The RUNÉ gaming system is a game unlike other LARP systems, where combat is light and slow, and the game mechanics are complicated and extensive. The RUNÉ gaming system endeavours to make role-play and combat as real as possible in a fantasy environment while maintaining a high standard of safety. The rules and mechanics have been kept as simple as possible in order to make game play simple and fast paced. Role-play is the main emphasis of the game and players are required to stay in character for the duration of the game unless safety or game mechanic issues require them to break character. Each player can choose from a variety of races and classes, allowing them to play a character that best suits them. The game can be played anywhere you can imagine, provided the location is safe and you have proper authority to play there. Each ’Mission’ is run by a GM, or game master, who organizes the event and ensures the mission is as fun and challenging as possible for the players. Players will be split into two groups: PC’s (Player Characters) and NPC’s (Non Player Characters). Each group will have an assistant GM with them to ensure they stay within the mission guidelines as laid out by the GM. |
