Announcements: Licensed LARP Program for Kids & Teens on Kickstarter - submitted by guardup
Posted on Saturday, October 20 @ 05:51:49 EDT (535 reads)
Hey everyone!

My company just announced that we will be raising funds to license our youth program called “Wizards & Warriors”. In these adventures, the kids (we call them “Heroes”) fight monsters with foam swords, win treasure and solve ancient mysteries. We also have a futuristic version that uses Nerf Blasters called “Zombie Blaster Adventures”. Both programs involve kids interacting with creatures and characters out of real life history, literature, and mythology.

Please consider supporting our Kickstarter Campaign:

Wizards & Warriors on Kickstarter

100% of your donation goes towards making our license a reality… which will help individuals and facilities across the globe offer this exciting program to children and teens who would benefit from the opportunity to experience an adventure where they are the hero… and make lifelong friends.

Whatever amount of support you can provide is appreciated. And whatever help you can provide is made even larger if you do so within 24 hours of reading this. The campaigns with the most number of donations within the first days of going live have a higher chance of being listed as a “Popular” campaign on the Kickstarter main page. With your help, we can get there!

The highest level of donations allow for access to the licensed material for one year for free! This is a great opportunity for individuals, groups or organizations that work with kids or teens.

Thank you so much for your support. This is the start of an exciting journey for all of us at Guard Up and the young heroes we hope to reach!

Announcements: LARP Summer Camp Scholarships - submitted by GuardUp
Posted on Sunday, June 24 @ 17:55:56 EDT (1325 reads)
Wizards & Warriors Summer Camp and NERF Zombie Summer Camp Scholarship Information

Guard Up, Inc.’s Wizards & Warriors Summer Camps is an interactive fantasy adventure camp for kids ages 6 and up. Kids use foam swords and play the role of a hero in a medieval setting. This coed camp is located on nearly 300 acres of woodland with its own lake in Westford MA.

The NERF Zombie Camp is a futuristic camp at the same location where kids ages 8 and defend the camp from zombies with NERF Blasters, while solving mysteries.

Both camps use dynamic story lines, theatrical costumes and special effects to create an educational and exciting environment where campers’ actions decide the outcome of the story. Campers learn how to apply the hero code of “Honor, Courage, and Compassion” during each adventure where they interact with creatures and characters born of literature, history and mythology from around the world.

This camp is perfect for kids and teens who love computer games or sci-fi/fantasy books and movies, and yet also crave the ability to be an active part of the mystery and intrigue.

Guard Up, Inc. Summer Camps have a number of Scholarships available to families and campers based on financial need. The number of scholarships and amount of financial aid available is based upon the contributions we receive as well as funds allocated for the scholarship program by Guard Up Inc. Our company is committed to assisting as many campers as possible in their quest to experience their own adventure at our Summer Camps. We strive to work with parents and organizations to assist as many children as we can.

Schools and organizations that work with children and teens are encouraged to provide this information to their families. Let’s help kids live the kind of adventure they have seen in computer games – only without the computers! This summer, let kids run around in the fresh air, make friends, and be a hero.

Please visit our websites at www.WizardsAndWarriorscamp.com or www.NERFZombieCamp.com to learn more about our unique summer camps. To Donate: If you are an organization or individual that wishes to provide financial assistance for children, please contact us at (781) 270-4800 for more information. 100% of all donated funds are used for Camper Scholarships.

To Apply: Our scholarship program is a partnership between the camper families, donating organizations, and our own camp. We therefore require at least partial payment from the family. Transportation and incidentals are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient. These scholarships and financial aid are to be applied to this year's Wizards & Warriors and/or NERF Zombie Camp only. Camp scholarship requests for large amounts may require verification by a copy of your family's most recent tax returns.

To begin the process, please visit: http://swordsummercamp.com/scholarship/ and fill out the online form - this form is applicable for all Guard Up, Inc Summer Camps including NERF Zombie Camp.

Posted on Wednesday, April 25 @ 20:35:19 EDT (1460 reads)
The frontier town of New Calendale, nestled gently between the Whispering Woods and Dunford Bay is a scenic area for sure, but it's no destination for tourists. On the outskirts of civilization it's prone to goblinoid attacks, wild beasts invading from the forests, and all manner of shady characters passing through. Not to mention the common appearance of wandering undead and even extra-planar beings! Still, it's rich with opportunity and the town's settlers are making the most of their home. Many adventuring sorts have also taken up residence here for their own reasons. Maybe it's for the excitement. Maybe it's to escape the past. Maybe it's a calling from their faith. Or maybe they simply have nowhere else to go. One thing they soon realize is that this place is filled with wonders to be discovered and things you can't experience anywhere else in the world. Untold adventure awaits when you live the magic at Realms of Adventure!

Upcoming Events: Realms of Adventure - October Event (Season Finale) - submitted by monk_with_claws
Posted on Tuesday, October 11 @ 21:29:47 EDT (2618 reads)
For the better part of a year, most of the churches of Adraveth have been embroiled in a holy war over a relic in the posession of the church of Gorvaak. The church of Jeredith has been leading the charge, believing the Gorvaakians will use it as a weapon, a claim they adamantly refute. Despite many proposals for peaceful resolution, neither side is willing to give in. People are disappearing, merchants are scared to travel the roads, and wearing an icon of your god could make you a target. Those who have chosen sides in the conflict face constant persecution from the nobles who refuse to tolerate crimes of any nature. Each side watches the other with suspicion, and the guard watches them both to maintain order as secret operations unfold. With no end in sight, donations pour in from the churches' supporters, and victory may be had by the side whose resources do not run dry. Deaths continue to mount as each side makes its offensives, and it seems the one certainty is that this war will have a victor. Only time will tell what the aftermath of that triumph will be...
